Does it hurt?
Relax. This treatment is non-invasive and safely helps pregnant women, newborns and the elderly. What needs to be ascertained is how an item, food or otherwise, affects your meridian system. While other allergy detection methods focus primarily on the immune system response to an allegen, NAET is testing the acupuncture meridian system to see if it is having an adverse reaction. So, no needles or other invasive implements are needed.
What you will need to do is participate in muscle response tesing (MRT). This approach involves you holding a glass vial (the allergen) while I test the strength of the opposing arm/shoulder. While holding something that is an allergen, your opposing shoulder will be less able to resist pressure than when you are not. This type of indication is easily reproducible and verified by other means (computerized galvanic skin testing). MRT is reliable and easy to do.
The advantage to this testing is that it demonstrates all allergens affecting the meridian system, even if they do not cause the immune system to respond. If an allergist does not get an allergic response from the immune system, then the patient is presumed to be "sensitive", not "allergic" to the item. Very sensitive patients may feel they react to many things but find they are not "allergic" to anything using conventional testing. Thus they have no place to go.
After you have been tested I will show you what produced changes in your system, and I will propose a treatment plan to get you better. Some of the allergens that produce your worst symptoms may be detected and you can begin avoiding them until you are desensitized.
You will be treated for your first allergen at this point. Please allow about 40 minutes for my review of your intake form, questions about your history and the muscle testing. The actual treatment should take about 20 minutes.
